The 20th Anniversary Edition update contains numerous small but significant improvements to both bidding and game play. Whilst each individual change is small the overall result is a stronger Bridge playing game. Thanks for all your feedback, tips + suggestions, please keep them coming.

Omar Sharif Bridge supports the following 3 modes of play:

In Rubber Bridge a rubber is played as the best of three games. A game is won by the first partnership to score 100 or more points in successful contracts.

In Chicago Bridge, also known as Four-Hand Bridge, you play exactly four hands of Bridge. The winner is the partnership that scores the most points.

In Tournament Bridge you play at your own pace against players from around the world in duplicate style Bridge tournaments. Each player in a tournament plays the same hands with the winner scoring the most points. Alternatively you can easily create your own online Bridge club, invite your family, friends or even some enemies then play in duplicate style Bridge tournaments against your own select set of players.

What is Bridge?
Bridge is a trick taking card game played by four players who form two partnerships. Players within a partnership face each other across a table. Traditionally, the players are referred to by the points of the compass - North, East, South and West. The two partnerships are North/South and East/West.

Designed for both beginners and more advanced players you can choose how you prefer to play. There are plenty of features if you are trying to learn Bridge including auto play and hints. Meanwhile the more advanced players can use the bid analysis or replay hand features to explore different lines of card play.

Pros and cons of Omar Sharif Bridge Card Game app for iPhone and iPad

Omar Sharif Bridge Card Game app good for

Absolutely wonderful game for all who are hooked on bridge. Standard American or Acol play. Only scores rubber so sometimes computer doesnt bid high enough. Apart from that I would highly recommend it!
I think the game is excellent. Its arrangement has been well thought out. The bidding and the playing are straight forward and clear. There is scope to replay a hand, or some portion of a hand if one makes an error. The scoring is efficient.
I enjoy this game! My partner occasionally overtakes my bid, without the supporting cards. But so does my niece. Its not perfect, but its great fun. I tried the lite version of bridge Barron , and I much prefer this programs game play and graphics. If you get the urge to play, this does the trick.
While the game play is markedly better than Bridge Baron, this iPhone version has two major drawbacks: 1. the partner bids without the points AND bids up my bid. The number of times Ive been stuck in 4 spades without the ace or king is a bad AI 2. the West player (Im South) always has the king to beat my queen. After months of playing this game, I can reliably predict the opponent card distrubtion which vary significantly from the theoretical distribution given a truly random simulation. Perhaps the iPhone OS uses a pseudo-random number generator and the game uses fixed seeds?!? Summary: its a great game, but the real world has better shuffling....
While I agree with other reviewers that sometimes the bidding is wonky, Im mostly using the app to learn, improve and understand. Mostly I love it. What would improve the game for me would be a "review" or "display all" button that I could use to move from the bidding to laying out all of the hands without having to go through actually playing. Id appreciate being able to easily see what each hand was bidding on without having to individually go through preferences to display N, S, E and W. Often I like to just bid the games and try to understand what happened with the auction. Another ideal feature would be being able to set the hands myself, not just choosing from a set of the, but to deal up a game that Ive read about and try it on my own.
Sicuramente può e deve essere migliorato, ma finalmente il nostro Omar Sharif anche su Ipod touch. Grande! E ora mi aspetto che venga costantemente aggiornato e migliorato.

Some bad moments

The deck seems stacked in East Wests favour. Played over 40 hands South had no more than 8 points most of the time less. The few times I did bid north supports with no points to back it up. Sorry I paid for this I was hoping for better.
Used to be great on iPod 1st gen. Just got an iPod 4g and this apps becomes very slow!! Needs an update ASAP
Its unfortunate because I find the screen well laid out and easy to use for both playing and bidding. But I get into bidding wars with my "partner" probably 1 time in 4 hands! He does ludicrous things: one time I bid 1 Spade, West Passed and my partner countered with 4 Spades! And he keeps bidding me up - many times without the cards to back him up! Play is another issue: Im pretty sure the computer cheats with his blind hands. For example, Ive played probably 100 hands: not once has East ever led a low suit, I put a Queen down, and I win the hand. West always has a King! The odds against this are astronomical!
this is a terrible program compared to Bridge base and bridge baron.
Eg. Bids 2 with a strong hand. No one plays that way any longer. Lots of other plays go against current conventional play.
This is a rip off. Not at all like the windows older version. Dont buy it
